Wow.

I don't know how to describe how I felt today directing our little ward choir.  They are so dedicated (they must be to put up with me directing)  The Spirit was so strong.

I got an email from the license holder for Oxford University Press.  She was gracious enough to look up the song without a title, research and get back to me.  She told me that I could copy the tune as much as I needed for what I was doing.  We got a rough copy done before today, and were able to see the words and notes on the same page for the first time.

My vision for the song played out beautifully the first time through.  Did we stumble through parts? Yes.  Without a doubt, as it is a minor key and if the notes aren't right, well....  To be truthful, I was so caught up in the moment that I didn't finish directing. (Trying not to cry)  I will try to make a recording when I get back from KC (this saturday, yeah!!!)  Our goal as the choir is to testify of the First Vision.  Of the truths learned by Joseph Smith in that Sacred Grove nearly 200 years ago.  God truly lives! He communicates with his people today like he always has!

During my mission I came to know these truths fully, and while I have wavered on the "Si me amais, guardais mis mandamientos" ( If ye love me, keep my commandments) John 14:15, I have never wavered on the knowledge.  ( I can't help the Spanish, it is always what I think of with that particular scripture. I have not always been, and am still not, the true, diligent follower that I need to be.  I stumble on that path back to Him daily. But I get back up, grab the bar, and try to move on, trusting in Him to guide me.

Music has always been my preferred method of sharing the my witness.  The lyrics are beautiful and true.  The music enhances the feeling of the words.  More important than the technical, is the testimony of those singing, and playing.  How I love each and every one of them.
