The end of the Christmas season
El Dia de los Reyes. January 6th is the day in Spain that is celebrated as the day that the wise men arrived to pay homage to a King. I can't speak as to how, or if, it is celebrated anywhere else, but I do remember on my mission, exchanging gifts that day. I was doing splits with a newer missionary, in a new area, and he was Spanish. (Do not let the lack of a name mislead you, if I had my journal, I would know, as I am lousy with names, especially if there are few interactions), and we had small gifts for each other. I learned about the holiday, and loved the fact that the day of gift giving was separate from celebrating the birth of the Savior. I wore my wise men tie today, the only time recently that I have worn a tie to work in Twin. ( I did wear a tie when I went to do training in Seattle) It was the last chance to wear a Christmas tie, and so I took it.
