The Book of Mormon, Another Witness of Jesus Christ

I know, the title isn't very imaginative, as it is the title of the Book of Mormon, a companion to the Bible for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  It truly stands as a second witness to Jesus Christ. Ezekiel 37:16-17 Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, for Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for the house of Israel his companions: And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand. It goes on.  The stick of Judah, the Bible, the stick of Joseph, the Book of Mormon, together testifying of Christ. Now, what would cause me to take a break from #VisionofLove ? I digitally ripped the old version of this post, except what is above.  Wonderful thing, Delete.  It didn't flow well.  As an amateur writer I can add my testimony that I stand in awe of the Book of Mormon as a literary p...

When a song's lyrics take on new meaning. #visionoflove

Okay, so it isn't part of the Vision of Love pageant coming in August.  Information for the pageant including dates, auditions and when tickets will be available is on the page below. familiesareeternal.org For those that missed the trailer to Vision of Love , I am sorry that you did.  While it certainly was not the polished full work it will become, it made up for that in spirit.  The Holy Ghost bore witness of the truthfulness of Our Father's Plan of Happiness for us.  Especially during the last song, when the audience sang with the choir. But that isn't what I am writing about. On Saturday night, at the Visitor's center, we had a performance that sang of the Savior, of temples, and yes, the Vision of Love.  You can't go wrong opening with Redeemer of Israel.  Can you? It was the testimony that I was asked to bear, not for the first time.  An uncomfortable one, to be sure.  A testimony of a young man checking all the boxes as a youth...

Vision of Love: The Trailer #VisionofLove

I had previously mentioned the event on Saturday, April 21, at the Independence Visitor's Center.  Tonight, I want to write about the event, considered a true sneak peek, a trailer, if you will, for the big event coming in August. Sunday evening, April 22, at the Independence Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 705 W Walnut St, Independence, MO.  7 pm.   The Vision of Love is truly a gift, an opportunity to peek behind the curtain of eternity, to understand, from revelation, what happened before we came to earth, in a format that is easy to follow, and to apply to yourself as an individual. The world is roiled in wars and rumors of wars.  There is so much uncertainty in this life that sometimes we don't know which way to go.  Of course this was all foretold.  It is important to understand at this juncture that while it was foretold, no prophecy  CAUSED the events of today, people do.  Which brings m...

A Vision of Love

Does the title draw your curiosity? Life requires vision.  It requires purpose.  We weren't born with it.  Or were we?  We can't remember our life before, of course, but we did live before we came to earth.  Last year I asked these three questions: Who are we? Where did we come from? Why are we here? What happens after we die? Okay, there were four.  I also answered them, briefly, but pointed out the pageant also answered them in a familial setting.  Well... This year, the Families are Eternal series returns with "Vision of Love"  a story of Harold and Penny who could easily be you and me, and their experiences.  I will write more on this wonderful tale as rehearsals go, but wanted to give a sneak peak.  First. On April 21 at 7pm you can preview some of the music for this wonderful pageant at a special presentation at the Visitor's Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 937 Walnut St, Independence, ...
