Vision of Love: The Trailer #VisionofLove

I had previously mentioned the event on Saturday, April 21, at the Independence Visitor's Center.  Tonight, I want to write about the event, considered a true sneak peek, a trailer, if you will, for the big event coming in August.

Sunday evening, April 22, at the Independence Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 705 W Walnut St, Independence, MO.  7 pm.  

The Vision of Love is truly a gift, an opportunity to peek behind the curtain of eternity, to understand, from revelation, what happened before we came to earth, in a format that is easy to follow, and to apply to yourself as an individual.

The world is roiled in wars and rumors of wars.  There is so much uncertainty in this life that sometimes we don't know which way to go.  Of course this was all foretold.  It is important to understand at this juncture that while it was foretold, no prophecy CAUSED the events of today, people do.  Which brings me to the song that I wanted to share, right out of the presentation.  

When Will We Learn?  with the text by Alice Beebe (music by Larry Beebe), asks the questions that echo through eternity.  See if you can find the answers.

When will we ever learn to live the laws of God?
When will we search for happiness that will last throughout all our trials?
Must the past be repeated? Will we ever take the path back to God?

When will we ever learn the ways of truth and right?
When will his children learn to pray? For in this, they will find the answers.
The pure in heart will receive the truth.  Ask, and he will give it unto you

When men seek for earthly power, 
And riches of selfishness
Their lust demands all your freedom

You know, when I read the lyrics, outside of singing them, I see our world in them.  I see me in particular. When will I ever learn?  It is a SLOW process.  But the day only lasts so long.  It all starts with the first step. 

What will your first step be?  How about Sunday April 22 at the Independence Stake Center?  I will be there as part of the choir, not because I have to be, but because I want to be.  #VisionofLove



One note.  I mentioned last time that were it not for the Beebes, I wouldn't be writing, but I neglected to mention that were it not for my Sarah, I would never have walked into the door of the Wornall building that night.  Thanks love.  Always.

a masterpiece

I received an invitation from a good friend to sing in a choir for an upcoming conference.  Of course, I am kind of a closet groupie for the director and her husband, and so the answer was easy.  But then it became irresistible. My favorite arrangement of my favorite hymn in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints' hymnal.  I missed the first rehearsal, but attended tonight, and will next week as well. December 7, 1941, a day that will live in Infamy. How will yours be? #LIGHTtheWORLD

Seventy Five years ago, the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, drawing the United States into World War II.  A war that literally spanned the globe.  Hundreds of millions of people with their lives directly impacted.  An attack that its architect knew would doom his homeland, and yet out of duty to country and to his Emperor, planned and executed it. This is very important to understand. While I know that it is extremely unlikely that the actions that I take will impact more than a handful of people, I have come to realize that it is those small interactions, replayed billions of times the world over every day, by billions of people, that make a lasting difference.  It doesn't matter whether we pay attention or not, the mere actions we take do ripple across the world.
