#LightTheWorld #IluminaElMundo

Here we are, another December, and a renewal of a great idea.

I will be honest.  I came home from Idaho out of sorts.  I thought about how excited last year I was to act on #LightTheWorld, and I documented all of the acts that I did, from my little corner of the universe.  I had no desire to put forward any effort to repeat this year.  I had recently been given an opportunity to serve the Lord, and His Children, and wasn't even thrilled about that.

To say that my mind seems like a mess at times is not an exaggeration.  Of course, that is no surprise to those that know me.

If you have ever seen "Forgotten Carols" a musical presentation by Micheal McLean, then this will be familiar to you.  There is a scene, where Uncle John was hanging an ornament on the tree that was a quill pen. He told the story of an angel that had wanted to sing at the announcement of the birth of the Savior, and wasn't allowed to.  The angel spoke of the song of his heart.  Rather than try to write about it, I will just let you watch the clip of the show.

I just cry watching it, like I did Monday night watching it live, because while I am an average singer, I feel that there is music and song wanting to be expressed, and I just don't know how to bring it out.  No, I am not a great musician, certainly not capable of putting these deep songs in my heart into words or music.  I just feel them.

#LightTheWorld is an initiative to get the world to focus on others this Christmas, and truthfully year round.  While it is sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, it is a true Christmas message for those believers to share to the world.  It is an opportunity for me to put my Christianity into action, rather than just believing.  The same for you as well.  Here is the link:

https://www.mormon.org/

Yes, it is the website of the LDS Church that is specifically tailored to those that have questions about the LDS, or Mormon Church, but you can go there, download a calendar with suggestions leading up to Christmas about how you can #LightTheWorld.  Those young men in white shirts and ties will not track you down by clicking.  A chat box does open up, and if you have questions, they will be glad to answer them, as well as provide any follow up that YOU want.

I followed through with my calling, and am feeling much better.  I have so much work to do in my life, to be ready to meet my Savior.  I am broken, but He heals me, one day at a time. (you started on the song, didn't you?)  Until I can express what I can't put into words, I suspect that these struggles will continue, but if that is the worst thing that I deal with, I am so blessed.  The Lord knows how weak I am, and has been relatively gentle with me.  I ache for those that struggle with illness, or other crises in their lives, and am in awe of their strength.

Some times we can't even see tomorrow, and getting through today seems iffy.  Just look to the light.  For He truly lights the world.  Can we do less?  It is easier than you think.
