Called to walk in high places. All of us have been.

Number 3 in the Star Child Series.  Doug Stewart's work speaks for itself.

Disclaimer, Not doctrinal, at least the setting for the song.  It does introduce some interesting ideas.  The concept of agency however is accurate.  Notice that each predicament is led by some conjugation of the verb "choose"

Chuck is teaching his future children while still in their pre-earth life.  He is teaching that there are all sorts of traps, snares, and other enticements awaiting spirits as they come to earth.  It is a teaching to remind them that they are indeed "Called to walk in high places" (the song title)  We are nobility.  Offspring of our Heavenly Father.  Do you see yourself in any of these places?  If so, (I do) then ask whether that is the best for you, or  the best you can do?  It is rhetorical, of course.  Have you ever felt like you are better than what you are, or maybe that you deserve better?  We are given our course in life, of course. And we must deal with the challenges and trials that beset us.  But.  Are we using our agency in a way that puts us in those less than ideal conditions?  If so, should we make corrections?  Up to you and me to decide.

Some may choose the downward road, afraid to walk in light untold
To blind to ever recognize their plight.
And some may choose the low low land, I know that some men walk in sand
And never know the joys of taking flight

But we've been called to walk in high places, far from the crowd,
Where light and truth and love abound.
Yes we've been called to walk in high places, and all the days we walk on earth
That's where we'll be found.

Some may choose a lonely park, to spend their hours in the dark
And others choose a crowded room to hide
And others choose a noisy street, refusing help to those they meet
Caught up in the pleasures they may find.

Some may pick the dusty path that leads in circles on the map
As they search for power, wealth, and fame
And others choose a carnival, with every sideshow on the mall
Thinking life was meant to be a game

But we've been called to walk in high places, far from the crowd
Where light and truth and love abound
Yes we've been called to walk in high places, and all the days we walk on earth
That's where we'll be found

Ask yourself if you see your description.  If so.......
