So what do we do?

The celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ has come and gone, though hopefully we keep in mind this great sacrifice every day of our lives.  It is by His Atoning Sacrifice that we can live again.  That we will live again.  It is by His Atoning Sacrifice that allows us to dwell in the presence of God, IF we are obedient, and repent in our lives.

The concept of repentance, and preparing to meet God was the message that I received from the just concluded General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  Apostles, the President and Prophet of the Church, and other General Authorities spoke of various aspects not only of repentance, but of seeking out the one while minding the ninety and nine.

It is imperative that we welcome all to our services, and to welcome all to Come Unto Christ.  We turn none away.  Every church building has the name of the church, and beneath that, "Visitors Welcome"  Saying that all are welcome is easy.  Welcoming them is not.  This is where we must step up.

During that time between Christ's burial in the tomb and His resurrection, he was in the spirit world organizing his ministers to go in to spirit prison and begin to teach all who had not heard the gospel in this life.  1 Peter 3:19  The Gospel is to be carried to all.  We are children of God.  God is fair, He is just.  Were He not so, He would not be God.  It would be unjust to judge those that had never heard the gospel or had the opportunity to accept it in the same manner as those who lived during His ministry, or through his teachings since.  Billions have died without that knowledge.  Are they condemned because of that?  Absolutely not.

All must receive the saving ordinances of Baptism, and temple ordinances including families being sealed together for time and all eternity.  Paul mentioned the ordinance of baptism for the dead in 1 Corinthians 15:29.  That work goes on today, millions are seeking their ancestors through genealogical research, and then that work is done in the temples of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, under Priesthood authority.

We also seek out our brothers and sisters of mankind who would know the truth of the gospel. We invite all to come and see.  To judge the fruits of those who claim to be disciples of the Lord.  Do they follow the principle of Loving God and loving their fellow men?  Which brings us back to the question of while we claim to welcome all, we need to actually do so.  To love those who come seeking the healing power of the Lord Jesus Christ.

For those that are hesitant for whatever reason, I implore you to also come and see.  Judge whether there is power in the Word.  If you but want to believe, you can know the truth for yourself.  That is the beauty of all of it.  We can find all sorts of faults with the members of any church, but listen to the teachings, see the fruits, and you can know for yourself.
