Come to Bethlehem #LIGHTtheWORLD
Night two of Come to Bethlehem is done. Lots of people tonight. Last night we were in a pretty good snow storm, and so while the chapel was full, The overflow seating wasn't. Tonight, yes. One more night. and then a solo at church on Sunday. Singing Hallelujah and other songs three nights straight, and then a solo? probably should have thought that one out.
So many times, we hear people quote scripture, quote apostles, prophets, CS Lewis, Me? I am just as likely to quote Handel, Phelps, Snow. Testifying through song. I listed a few of my favorites, but the list is certainly not exclusive.
This morning, I shared a video of O Holy Night, by GENTRI. The message is too important to not share, and share, and share. Especially today! As we #LIGHTtheWORLD today, it was to reach out to the poor, to aid those in need, as the Savior did

Please watch.
I wasn't writing directly about that, but felt compelled to add it. Just as I feel the need to share my testimony of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in my words.
In a little over two weeks, Christians the world over will celebrate the birthday of the King of Kings. A time of life. A fulfillment of prophecy. Mankind had looked forward to this event since Adam was driven from the Garden of Eden. A Savior, to atone for the sins of the world. To redeem man from the Fall. Prophets foresaw this event and rejoiced. Every Jewish girl wondered if she would be the one. The wise men saw the star. Shepherds left their flocks to see the child. A joyous event heralded in the ski by the Heavenly Host. Singing Glory to God, and on Earth, Peace, Goodwill toward men.
Can you imagine? Maybe another video? Josh Groban, O Holy Night, with scenes from the Nativity Story

He lived His life. A sinless one, faced with temptations at every turn, so that He truly could know the trials of man. The suffering. The pain. A sinless man, baptized, not because he needed to repent, but out of obedience to His Father, who commanded that all must be baptized. He set the example. He chose a ministry rather than fame. He drove Satan away. He chose humble men. Unlearned. Fishermen. A publican. He spent his life ministering to those around him. Relieving suffering, whether physical, mental, or spiritual, and sometimes a combination. He made the blind see, the lame walk, he even raised the dead. He patiently taught those closest to him, and spoke in ways that the common people could understand. He had little patience for those learned of the law. properly referring to them as vipers and hypocrites.
He suffered in Gethsemane. Suffering unimaginable. Suffering that only the Son of God could endure. He willingly submitted, truly as a lamb to the slaughter. The creator of the world. The great Jehovah. scourged by the Romans, His people demanded his crucifixion. He was crucified, suffering taunts and ridicule until finally, after paying the price in full, died.
And on the third day, he took his body up, glorified and perfected, having defeated death, not just for himself, but for all of mankind. Even more, he also made it possible for us to return to live with Him and with His Father. These things I testify. I know them. I feel like I know Him. and that He knows me.
We should model our lives after His. Look for ways to serve. that is what #LIGHTtheWORLD is all about. Do people see Christ in us? Did you see him in the GENTRI video? I think that is what I loved about it.
I feel so inadequate trying to express my knowledge, my belief. I wish I could shout it to the world, but am afraid that all the political musings have turned people off and out. I will be held to account for that. I try to serve however I can, whomever I can, and hope that my sins will be forgiven.
#LIGHTtheWORLD #ILUMINAelMUNDO pass it on!
